Montalbano Castle

It's a lovely building...it's literally a castle...so it gives a wonderful atmosphere....the room was ok...a lot of broken lights....and it needs a lot of maintenance. Noisy because the air conditioner....the pictures of it were nicer than the actual room, but it was fine... Service was inexistent...at the arrival we were shown our room that was on 3rd floor (no lift) and then to speak with someone I had to call the number instead to call a receptionist...( no phone in the room) Breakfast was a bit strange....a tray with a couple of croissants, some jam , some biscuits....I aspected a buffet like most of other hotels....tips for ladies....don't wear high heels!!!!my wife was in struggle for everything....another tip...if you want enjoy the jacuzzi, fill it ASAP...it toke more than an hour to fill it beacose the lack of water pressure... Would I suggest it to other customers??? No!!!! It's expensive for what it is... Far from town centre.... Lack of service....

Unique room with a jacuzzi and amazing view! Cool history about the room we stayed at. We heard that the great emperor stayed there before the coronation and that Michelangelo had stayed in this Castle 👑 The service was great, the owner of the castle welcomed us with warmth and full of stories. If you stay here you should eat dinner here as well:)

We booked the room + breakfast for 1 night through a Smartbox gift (Google privacy policy does not allow to add the screenshot with the description of the hotel we booked). The room was fair, nothing special. It had a jacuzzi and this was very good. We expected to have dinner in the hotel and have some drink, resting after the tours around the beautiful Firenze. The day before, it was not possible to contact by phone neither whatsapp using the numbers which are in the website. Then, they called me but I did not realise. We arrived at the hotel about 17h and the girl shown us our room and said that we could contact by whatsapp if we need something because there was no staff in the "office". What a surprise when we tried to contact them by 2 whatsapp numbers (website and one indicated on the poster in the room) in order to have some drink and ask for the dinner, and there was no answer. After that, we called them and she explain that there was no service at all, no drinks neither dinner. Into the bargain, there were some spiders (it could be normal in an old castle) and so many mosquitoes there, which was so awful. I am so soory, but as our experience, we do not recommend this placer to stay, only the views from the tower worth it.

Location great if you have a car, a little bit difficult to reach without. The castle's tower and terrace are marvelous, but the materials for building shouldn't be visible from here. The room had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a too thin door (no privacy) and flushing the water was making incredible noise (unbearable during the night). The bathtub was yellowish, probably because of all tubes and bad water, needs to be cleaned better. The dinner was amazing. And the stuff was very gentle and kind! The entrance door to change as soon as possible since it had a space under it. And the slippers! With a very cold floor you have you should give the people the slippers!!! (We stayed last night)
